In May 2009, I won the River Island Graduate Bursary award, which included a cash prize, extensive media coverage, my garments seen in one of Dublin’s top high street shop windows and a paid internship with River Island at their London design studios.
I was a finalist in the Persil Irish Fashion Awards 2009. My garments where shown live on prime television and in Marks and Spencer’s shop windows nation-wide. I received extensive media coverage in national newspapers and magazines.
The name of my six-piece degree collection is "RESIN". It’s a - dramatic, sensual and sophisticated collection for A/W women’s eveningwear. The line up includes knitwear, jeans-wear, dresses, fitted bodices and leather jackets.
My degree collection was exhibited in the newly opened Harry Clarke Gallery, Dublin.
I exhibited one of my designs in the ‘LIGHTWAVE’ festival 2008, celebrating the art and science of light, in the opening of the trinity college science gallery.
During my studies I have had several years experience in the fashion industry. I have worked in many companies including River Island, Quinn and Donnelly, Katherine E Hamnett and Sonya Lennon.
