Clay shaped by hand in a primitive way was systematically dipped in hot wax, the new “shells” created carefully removed by peeling and slicing. As the clay dried out, wax flowed into this new porosity resulting in serendipitous texture. The wax was then cast in partially recycled sterling silver.
