Kajsa Malmström is a jewellery designer and maker interested in the contrasts and conversations between jewellery and its wearer.

Through looking at and exploring tensions between the natural world and man-made structures Kajsa seeks to find expressions that challenge the eye. Organic movement filtered through geometric shapes, sharp lines and asymmetry creates a poetic language that re-negotiates how jewellery relates to the body.

Born and raised in Sweden, Kajsa now lives and works in London.

Collection 1

The collection was born out of a a wish to explore tensions between the natural world and man-made structures. As I was researching plants and zooming in on certain shapes and situations, I noticed what held my attention more than anything was the conversations that occur as humans try to control or constrict living organism. What happens with a flower seen through the glass of a vase? How do plants interact with the paraphernalia of a green house? In this collection I've attempted to translate these observations and capture the tensions created in these environments into jewellery that, like plants in a hothouse with it's man-made surroundings, re-negotiate how the jewellery relates to the body.
