A collection that grew from a conceptual post-apocalyptic world, where reptilian-like humans war against each other in harsh open landscapes, 'Bleak' is a realisation of one of the many stories my imagination concieves . The collection is deliberately simplistic, with an emphasis on functional style and form. Layering means the garments are easily interchangable, allowing for a variety of looks with minimal pieces. The garments themselves are protective against the elements, constructed from natural fibres including merino wool, and hand waxed water-resistant cotton. 'Bleak' is a collection that is wearable yet still edgy. Soft, draped jersey and chiffon sits alongside thick, structural wool jackets and possum leather. It is idealistic in its dystopian narrative, yet modern and sophisticated in its completion.
