At the heart of the mid-west region, with campuses in Limerick, Tipperary and Clare, LIT offers 70 CAO course options to students in a wide range of disciplines. Limerick School of Art & Design, LIT, Limerick, Ireland (established in 1852), is a world renowned Art and Design School, with excellent facilities and beautiful bright studios located on the Clare St Campus, Limerick and also at Clonmel LIT Campus. LSAD has an award-winning reputation within all its disciplines. 

Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) is an institute of higher education in Limerick, a modern urban city in the Mid-West region of Ireland and is one of 13 institutes that are members of the Institutes of Technology, Ireland (IOTI). LIT is the fourth largest IOT in Ireland, with more than 6000 full time and part time students and 500 staff. The Institute has five campuses and a learning centre across Limerick city, Tipperary and Clare. The main campus is located at Moylish Park, with two city centre campuses in Clare Street and Georges Quay in Limerick city. LIT in Tipperary is based in two campuses -Thurles and Clonmel. The LIT Ennis Learning Centre is based in the museum in Ennis town centre. LIT offers multiple courses whilst also catering for craft apprentices and adult and continuing education.  LIT was awarded the Sunday Times Institute of Technology of the Year in 2008 and 2013 by the Sunday Times University Guide. Limerick School of Art & Design, LIT, Limerick, Ireland was established in 1852. It is a world renowned Art and Design School, with excellent facilities and beautiful bright studios located on the Clare St Campus, Limerick and also at Clonmel LIT Campus. LSAD has an award-winning reputation within all its disciplines. BA Design programmes include Animation and Motion Design, Ceramics, Fashion, Visual Communications. In Fine Art there are BA’s in Painting, Printmaking and Contemporary Practice , Sculpture & Combined Media and Photography and Lens Based Media and at Clonmel BSc’s in Creative Multi Media and Digital Animation Production. Post Grad programmes include a H DIP in Art & Design Teaching, MA in Art Education, MA SPACE, Social Practice and the Creative Environment. LSAD also has a growing number of Research students at Masters and PhD Level. 

Today LSAD offers an attractive option to students of art and design. Its significant history and reputation make it an appealing choice for students. The long history of student success in national and international art and design competitions shows the high creative standards of the student body. These competitions include the Smirnoff Fashion Awards, Persil Fashion Awards, Gillette Venus Awards, the Graphic Design Business Association (GDBA) Award, The Irish Times Award, The AIB Fashion Bursary and The Institute of Designers in Ireland Graduate Design Awards.

Life in Limerick 

While study is an important part of college life, it is also about meeting new people and making new friends, enjoying new experiences and having fun! Sport plays a big part in life at LIT and all students are encouraged to get involved in the clubs and societies across our campuses. Limerick also has the Millennium Theatre where you can see ballet, opera, drama, dance, comedy, music events or even take part in one of our many community projects and education workshop.
