Istituto Marangoni Milan

The centre of fashion Istituto Marangoni was born here. Here the great names of Italian prêt-â-porter were trained. We are in the city center, a few steps from the path of fashion excellence, via Montenapoleone. Milan is the city of fashion par excellence; here new ideas and styles are continually developed. And Istituto Marangoni students find the tools to interpret and guide and grow through study programs which are constantly updated to become highly skilled professionals in the fashion industry at the highest creative, organizational and business levels.In 1935, Giulio Marangoni founded the Istituto Artistico dell’abbigliamento Marangoni, or The Marangoni Artistic Clothing Institute in Milan. It was a school to train professionals and technicians who were highly specialized in the world of fashion. During its existence, the Istituto Marangoni has never stopped believing in the value of training, constantly updating its programmes to make sure they are always in line with Italian and international market needs. In the past few years, Istituto Marangoni has opened new campuses in London in 2003, Paris in 2006, and most recently, Shanghai in 2013.

The essence of fashion and design: this is what is taught at Istituto Marangoni. Professionals, who are passionate about their work and are willing to share their expertise, teach the young talent that, once graduated, will reach the highest professional levels.

Through a complete course, where theory is taught alongside practice, students learn that creativity is a gift to be nurtured, nourished and stimulated continuously, with passion and dedication. It is the same passion for the world of fashion and design with which our teachers teach down to the finest detail.

Head of School

Giovanna Tabucchi has gained remarkable experience in design consultancy and collection design working with some of the most prestigious companies in the Fashion System. Her experience has enabled her to excel in the field of womenswear product development, knitwear and jewellery. Her professional career led her to Istituto Marangoni, where she took up the position of Educational Director and Fashion Design teacher and later became international coordinator during the opening of the new campuses in London and Paris. Since 2011, she has been appointed as coordinator of the Fashion Design department at the school in Milano and since 2014 she has also the role of Fashion Chair contributing to the negotiation and improvement of the final works of third year fashion design students, by bringing her vision and her know-how on made in Italy also to the non-Italian campuses.
