With his collection ‘first there was Nothing,’ Remi took the risk of creating a collection without a background story. “In my final year I felt so much pressure to find the perfect story for a graduation collection. I thought I was getting lost with the identity of my own interests. Therefore, I wanted to take a step back and create a collection from nothing. I saw it as an experiment to see if I could find my true self whilst not being influenced by any external input.” By eliminating a background story he mainly focussed on researching shapes and textiles.
