My inspiration for this project comes from Joseph Beuys' performance art piece, "How to Explain Pictures to a Dead Hare," in which Beuys treated a dead hare as an external organ. As someone born in the year of the rabbit, I had four pet rabbits, three of whom died. I was deeply affected by the performance art and wanted to create a collection that reflected my affection for rabbits and the sadness I felt at their deaths.
