The initial idea for my concept came from Coraline, a book by Neil Gaiman which is a story about a little girl who moves away from her comfort zone into a new place where she faces her biggest fears and ultimately triumphs. The way fear and bravery are handled throughout the story was what lead my research to knights and armory, and the process of “Arming the Knight” in order to protect their bodies successfully. My heroine is fragile and frightened but she’s also very brave and the garments are going to protect her and act as her armor against her fears.
