The initial inspiration for the collection came from a coast to coast road trip across the US that Isabel went on a few years ago. She was really inspired by the changing landscapes and the variety of colours within the light and landscape itself. While travelling she learned a lot about the history and culture of Native Americans, in particular the Navajos, while crossing states such as Arizona and New Mexico, and that made her want to look further into their culture, especially looking at their crafts and the way hand woven textiles is a major source of income in the community.
