"N.I.N.A" is a transformable contemporary womenswear collection based on the idea of packing up your whole life. It is inspired by the time I spent in America where I became intrigued by the Irish emigration and moreover visiting Ellis Island sparked an interest in the anti-Irish sentiment. During the mid-19th century when emigration from Ireland was at an all-time high due to the potato blight, no one wanted the Irish. The nation was depicted as a drunken, poor, disgraced population who were disease-ridden and feared amongst the countries they sought asylum in.
