AFTER GRADUATING WITH A BA IN FASHION DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY FROM AMFI (Amsterdam Fashion Institute) IN 2015, COLOMBIAN BORN DESIGNER JENNIFER DROGUETT cut her teeth on big brands like Viktor & Rolf AND House of Holland. NOW SHE HAS FOUNDED HER OWN LABEL ANCIELA AS A HOMAGE TO HER COLOMBIAN HERITAGE. SHE ALSO WORKS AS A FREELANCE FASHION DESIGNER & PATTERN CUTTER FOR EMERGING DESIGNERS SUCH AS RICHARD MALONE, SADIE WILLIAMS AND ARTSCHOOL.
ANCIELA portrays a neo-femininity that plays with the masculine Colombian attire to rebel against LATIN-AMERICAN traditional feminine beauty ideals. “We want to empower women to build their own idea of beauty beyond gender stereotypes and the stigma around being sexy”
THE BRAND believeS in creating light-hearted clothing both functional and fun to encourage women to mix bold colours and dynamic silhouettes. “We want garments to empower and truly shape the wearer to be their unique self in any situation”. THEY produce everything in London, reducing the environmental impact, ensuring good labour standards and delivering beautifully hand-crafted designs
