ZHUOLIN LIU IS THE FOUNDER OF ZHUO, A NEW YORK BASED FASHION BRAND FOR SUSTAINABLE CLOTHING AND ACCESSORIES. ZHUO WORKS/COLLABORATES WITH PEOPLE WHO COME FROM DIFFERENT INDUSTRIES AND RESEARCHES ENVIRONMENTAL-FRIENDLY METHOD OF MAKING CLOTHING AND ACCESSORY. ZHUO DEVELOPS NEW METHOD OF MAKING NEW MATERIAL IN EVERY COLLECTION. THE NAME “ZHUO” IS A CHINESE CHARACTER WITH MULTIPLE LAYERED MEANINGS: POLISH, REFINE AND THINK. THE NAME SIGNIFIES THE OPPOSITE OF FAST FASHION.

In Her clothing project, she explores unconventional materials and the new concept of fabric. She thinks the ”structured” garment can be made by non-structured material. She shows how a piece of fragile plastic can build a strong 3D SILHOUETTE. IN HER JEWELRY PROJECT, SHE SHOWS HOW THE PAPER WASTE CAN BE SCULPTED INTO TIMELESS ART PIECES. Her works not only show the excitement from the textile experimentation, but also show the path from past-tradition, present-alteration to future-application.
