The founder and chief designer, Hsin-Yu Lin, graduated in 2009 with an MA in Fashion from the University for the Creative Arts at Rochester in the U.K.
Further experience was gained in 2009-2010 with Alexander Mcqueen's womenswear team and in 2010 at Hussein Chalayan, assisting the pattern cutting team for the Spring/Summer 2011 collection. This was followed in 2011 with further womenswear exposure at Celine Atelier where she was able to lay a solid foundation focusing on womenswear and more specifically garment structures.

In mid 2012, Lin set up her brand, ‘Yui Atelier’ ready-to-wear, as a London and Taiwan based womenswear label. Her collection with modern chic styling twists tailor craft cutting and playing with a balance between contrasting elements such as unique silhouettes, colours and textures.

Autumn/ Winter 2016 de Fiore

The Autumn/Winter 2016 collection is inspired by Santa Maria del Fiore and the designer’s sojourn in Tuscany. This is the second chapter of an expanding series inspired by natural materials and structures. Lin was particularly drawn to the beauty of the marble and the magnificent Renaissance dome of the Santa Maria del Fiore, creating an ephemeral visual spectacle in different hues of cream white, peach pink and green. The colour palette also considers the building at night, incorporating white and black with matte black organza, leather and cream wool and silk. Lin translates the cathedral's structure into pure volumes and female silhouettes in a clear minimalistic aesthetic within male form. The collection favours block colours with intricate tailoring techniques. It projects the designer’s impression and imagination about Santa Maria del Fiore to the viewers.

Yui Atelier is a contemporary womenswear label. Founded by Hsin-Yu Lin, a fashion designer who graduated in 2009 with an MA in Fashion from the University for the Creative Arts at Rochester in the U.K. She has interned at Alexander Mcqueen, Hussein Chalayan and gained further exposure in womenswear at Céline during her time in London. Lin’s designs often seeks equilibrium between contrasting elements. She uses two-dimensional materiality to create unique three-dimensional silhouette textures.
