Born in Budapest. Grew up in Belgrade, New York, and Paris. YKRA was originally a t-shirt only screen-printing project, but turned into a bag and accessories label, after having worked besides Anna Zaboeva's Pleasemachine label.
YKRA was born out of our love for the colourful subcultures of the sixties and seventies, and the ruggedness and durability of mountaneering equipment. We designed our products in a classic style, reminiscent of some of our favorite oldschool pieces, in eccentric color palettes, suited especially for very colorful individuals. Our inspirations come from all over: skateboarding to mountain climbing, hip hop culture to reggae music, sailing to surfing, and everything inbetween.
We manufacture our products by hand, in our small workshop located in the basement of Budapest’s only surf bar, Telep, in the heart of the 7th district. We are a small brand, endorsed by our subculture and local community.
The YKRA backpacks are all made from natural materials: canvas, leather, and metal, giving your bag classic quality, and a natural feel.
