This design is centered around the concept of the chinese zodiac year, which occurs every 12 years. People born in the zodiac year may face challenges and difficulties, which can lead to a perceived lack of luck. It is believed that wearing red during the zodiac year can improve one's fortune. As a result, the primary color scheme for the entire series is red.
The design represents the cycle of the zodiac year through the blooming and withering of flowers. The inspiration for the silhouette of the design comes from the moment when flowers bloom. I find this moment to be beautiful and energizing, and I want to share this beautiful and magical moment with friends who may be feeling unlucky. I believe that "luck" is a deliberate act that depends on one's mindset and can be changed. I hope that people, especially when they are in a bad mood or experiencing unfavorable luck, can pay more attention to the beauty around them.
In terms of craftsmanship, I have continued the development from the previous theme. I have studied zero waste cutting and negative pattern cutting techniques to minimize fabric waste in garment production. I have also continued to use fabric composite techniques from the previous theme to add depth and dimensionality in terms of color. For the design of headpieces, I have used 3D modeling and employed 3D printing technology to bring the final design to life.
This design incorporates a variety of fabrics, and I have spent over a month carefully selecting suitable ones. While exploring numerous fabric markets in Europe and the UK, I have focused on incorporating many Chinese traditional elements into this theme. As a result, the primary visual materials used come from niche Chinese designers. Additionally, some fabrics from Italy and materials provided by the brand Burberry, which supports sustainable development in the industry, have also been included.
