Daily Boundary
My inspiration came from YIN-YANG, a photographic work of Zhou Shuoying.
This series was one part of still life works that she had been working on since 2017.
The subjects were taken from fruits, vegetables, flowers, and traditional Chinese snacks in daily life.
The lifeless objects were modeled, intercepted, or air-dried. We can see the bent bananas with a dry folded coat and purple cabbage with clear meridians. They were all carved by light thus forming a completely neutral gender symbol.
It’s ordinary, elegant, and in the meantime completely nude.
I drew interesting parts from it and transformed them into clothes. It can be full of metaphors, but actually, it is a common daily item.
