Venla Elonsalo

Collection examines the emotional relationship between a soft toy and a person. The garments are more than mere toys; they give comfort and sense of security.

Inspired by the soft toy collection Venla owned when she was a kid.
It had more than 200 soft toys and they were very important to her.

Venla combines new to old by utilizing both 3D modeling and traditional methods of teddy bear making. A genuine teddy bear mohair is used in this collection to achieve best properties for the bear looks. Other materials were developed from yarns and local dead stock fabrics. Soft toys are carefully finished with details like hand-made glass eyes and hand embroidered noses.
