Hi, I'M Federica Ghirardi, i'm 22 and a young fashion designer. For my thesis project i created a provocative and SUSTAINABLE accessories collection. Now it is my brand: Uma Milano.
I love TO mix up provocative and ecofriendly concepts with strong upcycling methods.
For my logo and charms, i decided to use an innovative method, the 3d printing, with an ecofriendly material: the PLA. It derives from corn and it is compostable. For the print of the bags i use the "printing and ironing" method, a manual work that takes time, but it has a very low environnamental impact. The brand phylosophy want to be a manifesto against bigotry and contempt, headed to respect the sexual freedom that we ALL need.

Obscenity becomes public, tradition get contemporary, minimalism slides into nature and color.

UMA MILANO HOPES TO CONVEY A SENSE OF FREEDOM THROUGH THIS COLLECTION. FREEDOM OF HAND-HOLDING, FREDOOM TO THINKING DIFFERENTLY, FREEDOM OF BEING HAPPY WITH WHOEVER YOU WANT. IT WANTS TO ALLOWS US TO DARE WITH PRIDE INSTEAD OF FEAR, EXPRESSING THEMES THAT TODAY SHOULD ALREADY BE CONSOLIDATED AND TREATED AS NORMAL.
