There was this idea that started to take shape in my head, that of a car crash. A fictitious memory but one that struck me the most. I saw it like fireworks. A brutal impact that we can only admire. Was it a materialization of my fears that had already been allayed or an empathetic vision of a crashing system? My first desires appeared in direct relation to the car. A symbol of freedom which embodies the hope and desire to go further. The crash, on the other hand, means that you never reach your destination. Maybe caused by perfectionism that remains.
I imagine the accident through an out-of-body experience. That is the end and my spirit takes a step back to admire the impact and how far I have come. The diploma collection consisting of 6 looks shows different degrees of humour and comprehension. One of the main topics covered is precisely that of going beyond one's own path by working on reinterpretations of workshop topics from previous years based on positive or negative comments made to me. In this way, I have developed and improved materials based on old research like the textile based on tights and resin that evokes both my discoveries during the internship and broken windows of a vehicle. I imposed on myself a volume item treated with first degree corresponding to year one’s introductory project. It materialises in the form of a Ford Sierra laminated with aluminium. The idea of a car is also present in the shapes and cut lines constructing the garments as well as to justify the technical precision and the quality of certain fabrics used. Personalized Materials that I am lucky to have been able to develop thanks to the sponsors of the best companies in their field: Sophie Hallette for lace and EE Exclusives for the jacquard. For the shape of the silhouettes, I wanted to be inspired by a certain idea of couture schools. A style that is often criticised, which in design can be called obsolete but which, I find, is full of interesting principles and above all refers to a utopian fashion treated with great candour. An essential quality in my eyes. I like to quote the poet René Crevel who said: "It takes a lot of naivety to make great things”. To this I liked adding the transparency of a working method and current awareness with a number of upcycling processes. My vision of the car crash is like the Big Bang, the end of an explosive trajectory but at the same time also a rebirth.
