Tehila Designs - Art Jewellery with a story by Veronica Umoetuk - created to visually demonstrate the different seasons of life that we sometimes have to go through in order to fulfil our purpose. It's about pushing the boundaries not giving up regardless of the challenges that may occur, which at one point I found myself - in a dark place. The message behind the creation of the pieces is to inspire the wearer to think and act positively, set new goals, refocus, and be determined to succeed. This resulted to starting all over again and retraining at Holts Academy (now British Academy of Jewellery) and graduating with a level 4 professional qualification in Jewellery Manufacture and Design in December 2013 prior to that I had worked as a Health Librarian/Cataloguer for a over a decade.

The pieces are currently created using traditional gold/silversmithing techniques. Coming from a non art/design background it has been important to be involved in the process of making the pieces from it's inception. In most cases it's as I sit at the bench that the way the piece will turn out finally unfolds. A lot of the time it's from a rough sketch of an idea that I got whilst walking along the road, or even when I'm in deep thoughts thinking about something and then that's where the light bulb flashes to create a new design. The metal used is mainly sterling silver but other precious metals are used depending on personal requests from a customer. Other materials used include precious/semiprecious gemstones, pearls and sometimes incorporating the ancient technique of granulation. Most pieces are created in limited edition as the intention is for them to remain unique, also as the bulk of the pieces are 100% handmade there will be slight variations in size/pattern with inclusions/imperfections all this is to stay tuned with the story of the brand which is with our flaws, weaknesses, challenges we can still overcome life's struggles and fulfil our destiny if we don't give up!
