Subjective Reality’ is an Autumn/Winter collection inspired initially by the idea of reality and its distortion through various means including; time, perception and perspective. The concept developed throughout the course of the project to encapsulate the idea of the circle, stemming from the idea of the eye – the medium we use to interpret our own reality. The colour palette also developed from the idea of the eye, using green, blue and grey tones to mimic those of an iris.
Extensive fabric research led me to the unconventional fabrics that I used within ‘Subjective Reality’ evolving the idea of a ‘hybrid’, cutting silhouettes and shapes that would complement a typical wool or jersey, but instead employing those principles onto plastics such as nylon and polyurethane to create an entirely unique, yet wearable collection.
