STEVE RILEY ART

Steve Riley graduated with a BA Honors in art and design from UCE Birmingham, UK, in 1996. He has pursued a busy art & jewelry making career that has led him to New York where he currently creates jewelry from his Brooklyn studio. Riley considers himself to be an Artist rather than a traditional jeweler, although Riley has worked for sixteen years in the jewelry making industry for both internationally selling firms and as an independent designer. Each of his pieces is meticulously crafted. The materials used reflect the embodiment of his work: strong, bold, and organic.

"I work in what I call a modern primitive style, fixating over each mark, the controlled and random details are critical. Each piece is created as a play between materials and how that translates in terms of what is traditionally considered jewelry".
