Founded by Sreya, a 2015 Textile Design graduate from NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF FASHION TECHNOLOGY, label Sreya Samanta was born out of immense passion to reinvent Indian textile art, tted to today's context - a determination to uphold the various traditional crafts of Bengal in a manner that's hardly been seen before.
We believe our label is not just one of a kind, but of the other kind.
We celebrate contemporary womanhood. And in line with the same, we launched our saree and clothing label on the 8th of March 2017,on the very occasion of International Women's Day.
Our aesthetics are not around draping women with perfect bodies, but on sensitivity and emotion. We prioritize the soul and the personality. Away from the stereotypes that fashion brings along, Sreya Samanta intends to give a new meaning to fashion with subtlety and nuance.
At present, we are focused on reinventing the age old beauty of Kantha from Bengal along with the revival of handwoven khadi fabric.The beauty of our label comes from the fact that each of our pieces are meticulously handcrafted by our artisan friends in Bengal.
