Sophie Breitmeyer creates eternal British luxury, her jewellery is bespoke at its core. Handmade in the UK,
the label produces pieces that are set to become future heirlooms.

Sophie Breitmeyer is the great granddaughter of one of original directors of De Beers, Louis
Breitmeyer & Sir Michael Balcon founder of Ealing Studios. Born & raised between the family farm in
Cambridgeshire & Meribel in the French Alps. Sophie was educated at Heathfield, Ascot before
studying Jewellery Design at the prestigious Central St Martins College of Art & Design.

Upon graduating from Central St Martins in 2010, Sophie was awarded The Bright Young Gems Award
at International Jewellery London & described by Vogue Italia as “ a new talent to watch.” She has
since worked as a freelance designer for a number of renowned fine & fashion jewellery brands such
as Kiki McDonough, William & Son, Winterson & Tateossian as well as collaborating with the likes of
Fyodor Golan on there award winning Spring/Summer 2012 collection, for which she was nominated
to be Catwalk Jeweller of the Year.

In 2012 Sophie set up her eponymous label, Sophie Breitmeyer London with a debut ready to wear
fine jewellery collection, Serpentina. She has since then released annual capsule collections developing
a reputation for her personal yet creative approach to design & unusual combinations of different
coloured golds & stones. The inspiration for these collections often comes from other design fields
such as fashion and architecture.

Sophie’s real passion & talent though lies in creating bespoke one of a kind pieces, whether it be
producing future heirlooms or reworking inherited ones. Sophie strongly believes that all jewellery
holds a personal & quite often very special story, This can be seen in the jewellery that she wears on a
daily basis, her grandfathers signet ring which was given to him in 1945 by his mother & a pair of small
but original De Beers diamond studs given to her by her mother.

Today the label is run between Sophie’s West London home & her studio in The Goldsmiths’ Centre,
Clerkenwell. She is closely followed by her dog Hackle wherever she goes.
