Somya Goyal’s interest in textile and garments began at an early age. Growing up in a family of garment manufacturers and distributors in New Delhi, Somya spent her early life surrounded by yards of textiles, buttons, yarns of threads and fasteners. It is then, she began her untrained explorations with various materials to create designs in her father’s workshops with guidance of various masterjis.
In 2017, she graduated in fashion design from Pearl Academy followed by a course in the prestigious Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London in 2019 with a clear intent to master the craft and the medium.
She founded her eponymous label SOMYA GOYAL in 2019 through which she constantly engages with established rubric to imagine new possibilities in womenswear.
