Afshan, the designer behind the brand sole stories believes fashion chose her and she quickly decided to choose fashion back as a form of creative catharsis and expression. a degree in tourism followed by a job in aviation allowed her to be educated and inspired by the world at large as her classroom. mostly self taught she believes herself to be a work in progress for life and uses accessories as a way to tell stories. stories that carry the essence of our time, stories that carry purpose and meaning and stories that remind us that fashion much like art, music and cinema carries the power to transcend boundaries...

She was recently scouted and invited to showcase her latest collection "Bound by a common thread" at the new york fashion week 2020 within the promising designer category of "the ones to watch".

Sole Stories Slow is a movement, an extension of a conscious lifestyle choice that moves towards seeing fashion as an expression of self, a part of the greater whole rather than a trend driven indifferent exercise...
It represents conscious and thoughtfully designed pieces that are ethically made using sustainable vegan alternatives like Pineapple leaf fibre and Up-cycled rubber tyres amongst others.

Age, gender, colour, race, religion, sexual preferences, physical attributes all form a part of our identities but can they truly define what we are made up of ? When stripped down to the bone are we not all bound by the common thread of humanity, thereby rendering these so called labels as shallow and superficial..
