The starting point for the concept behind my collection was the
1965 movie Giulietta degli Spiriti by the master filmmaker Federico Fellini. I fell in love WITH The surreal imagery, lavish use of color and dream-like atmosphere which were at once incredibly inspiring. At the beginning of her journey, my muse, a normal, inhibited and even boring character unexpectedley dares to try a mix of psychedelic drugs. This has a profound impact on her: it unleashes a wave of extreme changes within her and she experiences a new, extraordinary state of consciousness that will liberate her mind. The psychedelic drugs catapult her into a colorful, fantasy ridden journey with surreal scenarios that imbibe her with a sense of freedom and unhinibition.
The collection features textured jacquards, lurex fabrics, and tweeds alongside vibrant digital prints. Sustainable banana yarn in contrasting colors such as fuchsia and bright yellow is embroidered on skirts, dresses and cuffs, imitating feathers and fur. Patchworks and sequins which are made from plastic bottles and painted by hand decorate the garments constructing a new dimension. The drapery adds unexpected volumes while the printed tops, ornate coats, and embroideries create a surprising mix of colors and textures.
The aim of the collection inspire the audience and dare people to see themselves in a new perspective, encourage them to expand their minds and discover their own ‘Alter Ego’.
