Sienna Lin is a New York-based fashion designer from Macau, China. During her undergraduate studies at Parsons School of Design, Lin was nominated for the top 50 in the Arts of Fashion Foundation competition and the Supima Competition in 2023.

Lin’s work identity is characterized by a sleek, modern aesthetic that incorporates innovative construction techniques, contrasts of colors, and a focus on clean lines. She generally looks to sources unrelated to fashion for inspiration, including art, architecture, and music. Lin aims to create new ideas and new forms that don’t follow any rules or conform to the trends of the time, in order to play, evoke, inspire, and resonate with the audience.

breaking boundaries: boldness and subtlety

This collection brings together the concepts of architectural structure and feminine fluidity, creating a paradoxical but cohesive blend of strength and fragility, boldness and subtlety. Technical, yet sensual. The collection is structural however with a consciousness of functionality and wearability. There were a lot of abstract ideas, but the collection started with thinking of
people’s different lifestyles and how dressing up can give people a feeling of strength and empowerment in a way.
Inspired by the documentary “breaking boundaries: the science behind our planet”, which discusses the various ways in which human beings have harmed Earth's systems, in which we cross certain lines of harming the Earth with regards to levels of biodiversity and more, I wanted to talk about how human beings can stay innovative, cooperate, adapt to a different lifestyle, find a balance, and create safeguards with the impact of the surrounding environment. I focused my research on the formation of the desert because I was drawn to the subtle aesthetic of the desert, and wanted to offer a fresh take on this theme. My design aesthetic combines high-quality materials with subversive culture, slimline tailoring, and creative fabrications. I aim to create a style that doesn’t follow any rules and doesn’t conform to the trends of the time.
