SERPENT AND THE SWAN

Serpent & the Swan, the Australian women’s, men’s and lifestyle brand is inspired by two sisters fascination with the anatomy of creatures and the connection between the macro and micro worlds that are contained within ourselves and the universe around us. The vision and aesthetic of the brand seeks to represent those ideas through drawing on different collection inspirations. Serpent & the Swan creates an alluring world within their lifestyle brand, which the consumer is invited and inspired to immerse themselves in.

Each collection has within it special placements of handcrafted, animal or anatomy inspired trimmings and/or a unique print. The subtle yet striking hardware takes on many forms including buttons, brooches, zipper-heads and toggles and has become a hallmark of the label’s unique signature. All hardware and prints created are unique to the label and designed in-house.

Incorporating their different creative backgrounds and a distinctive shared visual aesthetic, the label aims to offer a collection that is both beautifully designed and inspired by the designers own vision, rather than influenced by runway trends.

Fashion Designers - Sisters Hayley & Lauri Smith
Hayley Smith has had over 10 years experience in the fashion and costume design industries designing for some of the world’s top global fashion brands as well as working alongside musicians creating garments for stage and film.

Lauri Smith comes from a background in fine arts and special effects, which includes the production of prosthetics, props and monster making for television, music clips, clay animation and feature films.
