Amanda Scarlett Smith is an English born, American based designer. Trained in Womenswear at the prestigious Central St. Martins College of Art it was here she honed her design skills to create her signature look. After gaining experience in the industry as well as working on high profile film and theatre projects Amanda is launching her own line of womenswear.

Amanda has just launched her label Scarlett Smith with her SS15 collection under the mentorship of the Fashion Incubator Program in San Francisco.

Scarlett Smith creates sculptural pieces inspired by the feminine form using innovative techniques to create unique silhouettes. Her fascination with the female form creates strong architectural shapes that have a powerful femininity.

Experimentation is core to the design process, she is fascinated with the endless possibilities of fabrics and techniques to create striking, sophisticated yet clean silhouettes.

Spaces Within
A/W 2015

The collection is inspired by the underlying principals within geometry and architecture to bring out spaces within spaces.
Scarlett Smith's collections have a serene and austere beauty. Everything has been reduced to its purest form. Each detail is important and deliberate. Silhouettes are precise, functional and beautiful. The color palette is tranquil and harmonious creating a calm, reflective mood. Shapes are softened by calm gradients of prints and architecturally inspired fabrics designed to balance the hard and soft, the angular with the rounded. Minimal seascape photography inspired the print, softening edges and adding depth to sculptural details. Intricate design and inventive pattern cutting are at the core of the collection. Details are carefully placed to enhance the female form. Fabrics have been sourced from Japan, renowned for its innovation and quality.
Scarlett Smith's FW 15 collection is an artistic yet commercial capsule range for the modern woman, featuring understated, refined statement pieces. The collection has evolved with key signature details pushed further this season using a masterful play with print to enhance the shape
and dimension of sculptural pockets and a continuing exploration with the circle. Each collection flows from the next, an ongoing dialogue of inspiration and a story of ideas.
