Most of us know a Christine.
Christine was a beautiful soul and a free spirit.
She was a wonderfully brave woman and a loving mother.
May her memory live forever.
I created this collection to honour the feminine in all its forms.
The curvature forms of the female body, the original sin as well as where life origins.
The collection is inspired by the different aspects of being a woman.
On one hand there is the sensual part, when a woman is young and blossoming; that is translated into using delicate fabrics such as tulle, chiffon and organza. Through flounces and frills, transparency and softness the intimacy and the mystery of lingerie are transmitted.
The other aspect of the feminine is the motherhood. I used wool to translate this phase of womanhood, the warmth and protection all mothers have to give. I identify women’s creative and fertile nature to their historical tradition of handcrafts. This is expressed in the collection through knitwear, crochet and other yarn manipulations.
The collection combines warm and durable, protective outerwear with more sensitive garments, in order to express the feminine nature.
I created fabric manipulations to simulate the curvature shapes of the female body. The color palette consists of colors such as creamy white, apricot, rose pink and carmine.
