Sadie Clayton is a luxury sculptural womenswear label representing a unique aesthetic in the British fashion scene.

The designer’s architectural approach involves avant-garde shapes, manipulating industrial materials and silhouettes to fit the female form. The designer’s signature fabric - and the stone that brings good luck - copper, is prevalent within her collections as is copper sheeting, which has been hammered and heated for a progressive finish. Sadie also has a personal spirituality from the metaphysical properties of stones and physiognomy, which she draws on. Themes are translated into her garments through voluminous shapes or constraints and twisted proportions. The fabrics replicate the texture and composition of the crystals.

The eponymous line was launched in 2014. After graduating from Kingston University in 2013 and exhibiting at Graduate Fashion Week, Clayton has gone on to show on the catwalks of London and Berlin and showcase her SS16 collection at London Fashion Week at the Royal Academy of the Arts. Her upcoming AW16 collection will be presented at the Cafe Royal London.

Clayton has demonstrated the art of working with copper metals as a part of the Nick Waplington / Alexander McQueen: Working Process exhibition at the Tate Britain, led a workshop at the Tate Modern and was one of 15 designers chosen from across the world to show at the Artisanal Intelligence exhibition, part of AltaRoma.

Sadie Clayton has been worn by the likes of Skin, Fleur East, Ellie Goulding, Caryn Franklin and has featured in Vogue, Vogue Italia, Elle Italia, Grazia, i-D, Wonderland, Noctis, Schön!, 1883 and more. The designer has collaborated with esteemed creative individuals and brands such as cordwainer Charlene Ong, photographer Mark Lebon, Jeweller Andrew Logan, United Nude and the Tate. She has recently collaborated with Nixon, the global watch brand, on customising watches and also gained a product sponsorship from Swarovski.
