Rose Church is an emerging designer based in Perth, Australia. Having recently graduated from Curtin University, Perth with a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design, Rose intends to further develop her skill set and industry experience through an internship abroad. She has been chosen as a finalist for both the VAMFF National Graduate Showcase and the ID International Emerging Designer Awards for 2016.
The ritual of design for Rose begins with surface and contrast. She endeavors to tell the story of her musings through surface. Every fabric introduced is to be considered and manipulated or marked in such a manner so as to become her own. Often finding contrast inspiring she likes to inject moments of it into her garments generating a presence of slight disharmony within her work. @churchofrose

Silent Discord

Silent Discord depicts a conflict within surface, an assemblage of sorts entwining & escaping itself. This conflict is a metaphor for the tension of obsession – discussing mixed feelings of lusting after the perfect texture, the perfect tone and the perfect form contrasted with an overwhelming feeling of suffocation as a result of obsession.
Silent Discord’s protagonist, he or she is a beautifully odd pile. It is in their undoing that they become anew.
