ROKUS is an emerging brand that was born in 2013 in London out of love for ancient gold jewels, African folklores and artefacts, and a desire to create and be original. Whilst studying Jewellery Manufacture at Holts Academy in Hatton Garden, Mp Tano, the founder of ROKUS started experimenting with wax carving and redesigned selected tribal masks that were then used for the first collection. There was born the founding concept of ROKUS: to create luxurious whimsical sculptures with a unique attitude by fusing Modern and Western aesthetics with African, Asian and Ancient inspirations.

Our current range includes the following collections:

The African Mask collection includes 3 traditional masks. “Plenty Plenty ”, the twofold mask based on the Baga Nimba from Guinea represents abundance, productivity and fertility.
The “Little Woman ”, is based on the Mende mask from the female-only Sande secret society of Sierra Leone and represents all the qualities that make us attractive and decent beings.
“The Bird ”, based on the Bwa Bird mask from Burkina Faso symbolises growth, maturity and positive change.

The “Mystic Palm ” collection is inspired by the imposing and majestic jewellery worn by Ashanti and Baule nobles in Ghana and Ivory Coast and is made of a sculpted palm tree. The kernels from the palm tree have many mundane uses including decorative and culinary but their oil is also said to have magical healing powers…

The Cowrie collection is made of carved up cowries and chains. Cowries were once used as money in parts of Africa and are a symbol of good luck and material wealth.
