ASYMPTOTE “deep desire, constantly approaching but, although it seems within reach, it never comes“.
My main objective with my Collection Asintota is to show the nude as some- thing more than the absence of clothing, instead the nude in relation to the soul and the human. To show as little by little, in a society concentrated on technologies un- der all effects, moralities and even though the being hides the purest soul of oneself.
The relationship that we find throughout history reflected in art is that the human nudes have always been an escape route to find ourselves, to meet our being. We enter the world of technology, specifically with the Metaverse, a metaphor of re-entering another world and recreating ourselves to once again forget our purity.
Past and future, nature and technology and of course: recycling. With the past, we can create the future; and from the past, we can learn for the future. My garments contain pieces from the past, that is, recycled, which means investing in a concious future, thus creating a present that is more aware of the importance of second lives. Each garment in the collection contains pieces of other garments that I have been recycling throughout my career and have never used, such as trench coats, pants, buckles, belts... As well as a curtain from my aunt Olivia.
So Asymptote seeks purity, nakedness of the soul, inspiration in nature and above all, respect for it as well as control of the future through technology.
