The Central Saint Martins BA Jewellery graduate Robyn Smith celebrates a wry, humorous take on everyday events with her playful approach to jewellery. Underpinned by an interest in utility, she questions the properties and purpose of an object, finding humour in the unexpected when the shape is exaggerated beyond its recognisable form. Oversized structures emblazoned with graphic colour and crystal patterns express a bold aesthetic and versatile approach to jewellery and accessories.

Attracting the attention of Swarovski in her final year, Robyn was awarded the Swarovski Scholarship 2013 for jewellery and went on to create her graduate collection ‘Sports Day’, characterised by heavy hardware with delicate hand embroidery in statement unisex pieces that celebrate the traditional medal and challenge preconceptions of what jewellery can be.
