Born and raised in England, Melissa Jade Rogers majored in fashion textiles (print) design before moving to New York City to work for several well-known fashion houses.

In 2019, Melissa co-founded luxury apparel and accessories brand RIVERSJADE.

Determined to help normalize unique expression of style in the workplace, she designs with particular focus on embellished suiting and separates.

Melissa believes women (or whoever wears her product) should feel confident to dress in bold garments, regardless of role or profession, if they so choose.

RIVERSJADE also appeals to women who place value in investment pieces defined by luxe fabrics and meticulous attention to detail.These well-crafted garments are timeless, ageless, size inclusive, and most importantly, designed with purpose.

As a company that prides itself as a female-run luxury fashion house, it is important that it represents the matrimony of Melissa's intrinsic desire to design beautiful, high-quality garments and her dedication to social and environmental causes.

As a bi-racial designer, the global water crisis in sub-Saharan Africa is a cause important to her. According to unwater.org, women and girls are responsible for water collection in 8 out of 10 households with water off premises. Many must travel many miles daily, leaving them unable to attend school. With each sale, money is set aside to combat this issue. Our mission is to help fund and build water systems for villages in need, a project Melissa plans to participate in personally. It is our hope to help those less fortunate sustainably improve their lives, bringing about better health, greater opportunity for education regardless of gender and, hopefully, helping them break the cycle of poverty.
