California Native, Janine Rhodes, a womenswear fashion designer, is the founder of RHODES NY, a womenswear clothing line specializing in evening wear and ready to wear. As a young child Janine spent many a winter’s in Detroit, Michigan with a grandmother that traveled the world and loved to shop. At eight years of age she knew she wanted to be a renowned internationally known fashion designer. In her teenage years Janine joined an art’s academy where she was able to explore all the areas of artistry. She devoted her time to perfecting her human form sketching abilities and in turn began her career in the fashion industry.

Janine Rhodes is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach with a B.A. in Textiles and Fashion Design. Wanting to make a name for herself early on, Janine chose to seek out fashion show competitions for which she received recognition for her classic and elegant sensibility in women’s fashion in publications such as the California Apparel News.

Following her graduation, Janine accepted a position as an assistant designer to bridal designer and then eventually realized that if she wanted to capitalize on her talent that she had to move to New York and follow her dreams.

Janine arrived in New York in 2008 to begin her career. Janine is an emerging talent that has yet to be recognized. She draws inspiration by collections of Coco Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, and Valentino. She pulls inspiration from all things around her. New York has influenced her designs greatly, in addition to, collections of images of world history, and from her travels. Her desire for success and her intense ambition keeps her going in in era were the fashion industry is filled with many a names and new emerging talent every day. Her clients know her for designing and styling for all ages and all professionals. Her clothes are a blend of a modern elegance with a hint of masculinity and edge.
