Recently nominated for Accessory Designer of the Year at the 2012 Scottish Fashion Awards, Rene Walrus Atelier was founded in 2011 by Janet McCrorie. A fine art graduate and jewellery designer with a love for fashion and surrealism, combining her knowledge of the avant garde with her passion for couture, Janet set about to create wearable art for the brave.

Surrealism and decadence are the essence of the Behemoth Collection. Drawn from a diverse range of subjects from surrealist literature to eccentric traditional costume and post-modern art, each piece is meticulously constructed by hand using a variety of jewellery, millinery and embroidery techniques.
