The Art & Design Collective "Room 6.7" based in BIELEFELD is an association of studied fashion designers and freelance artists from the universities in Bielefeld. The group, founded in july 2019 is a member of the Kulturhaus Bielefeld e.V.

In the context of fashion, the topic of "transparency" is increasingly being discussed. Efforts to find out more about production conditions and employment relationships in companies have confirmed many fears and often even exceeded them. For today's fashion designers, therefore, the question arises of how the idealistic idea of complete transparency in fashion industry can be implemented under the current conditions. How can transparency be achieved in today's fashion context both on and behind the stage? Can the topic also become a source of inspiration? To make a virtue out of necessity, this task has to be presented in many different ways.

The project aims to draw attention to the value of textiles, clothing and other goods. The intention is to sensitize visitors to sustainability and encourage them to take a critical look at, among other things, new technologies and production processes in the fast fashion industry. The artist collective is concerned with integrating economic, political and social problems into clothing in an abstract, yet accessible manner - for example as prints - and thus creating connections between abstract theory, sensual art and everyday action. Manufactured items of clothing, (textile-) objects, collages, assemblages, video and photo material, sketches, drawings and paintings will be on display at the upcoming exhibition in july 2020.
