Starting in 2008, Vicky decided to "recycle" her architectural drawings creating patterns for upholstery and wallpapers in her interior design projects.
Ι n 2012 her love for deign as well as for usable fashion items brought a new idea and she started creating innovative design forms for hand bags.
The unlimited production of artistic patterns which are coming up from architectural drawings via digital process is the basic prototype concept of “Recycling Architecture in Patterns”, (RAinpatterns, by Vicky Lavranou) new brand.
“The initiation of my “process art” patterns creation is always one of my architectural drawings, but during this “process art” procedure, artistic influences from my favorite art movements Impressionism, Expressionism and Constructivism as well as “ornaments” from architectural history periods, appears in my Patterns Collection.”
Wikipedia: “Process art is an artistic movement as well as a creative sentiment where the end product of art and craft, the “objet d’art”, is not the principal focus.”
The bags collection includes Arty-Chick innovative minimal design hand bags items which are focused on flexibility, variety and adaptability.
“Most of my designs have an inner frame of wire (syrma in Greek) that support the bag’s structure, affect material’s behavior while allows the final user to “participate” in design somehow by “reshaping” the bag’s form, the way he/she prefers.” For me the final result is a fashion sculptural item more than a hand bag.
My unique architectural-artistic limited edition patterns somehow define the style on each one of those bags. “Ornaments” and “Tiles” patterns respond to classic style while “Tribal” and “Architectural Cities” patterns collection respond to grunge / arty styles.”
Silk scarves Collection are including in RAinpatterns project made of the finest Greek silk, produced in Soufli / North Greece , digital printed with eco UV protected inks.
“My intention is to make fashion as an architect. By transferring my 20+years of experience in Architectural Design and Construction to my new fashion project, is easy for me to continue working under the same eco sustainability + ethical manufacture principles along with the specifications on the materials I use.
All my products are manufacture in Greece by excellent Greek artisans.”
