Queen’s Wood Studio is a contemporary sustainable jewellery brand by British expat, Hattie Wragg. Founded in north London, in a studio overlooking Queen’s Wood in 2014, Hattie moved to Brno in 2015 and became inspired by Czech folklore and the closeness of nature even in the city. Sustainability is at the heart of everything she makes. All metals are traceable recycled silver, gold and brass. Stones are reclaimed vintage or adopted from the collections of retired jewellers. Studio processes use non-toxic alternatives to the usual chemicals and all packaging is recycled and recyclable.

Hattie trained in silversmithing under Rachel Jeffrey for a City and Guilds qualification in 2005. She continued to teach herself alongside her academic studies in English Literature at the University of Cambridge 2006-9, Masters at UCL 2010-11 and DPhil (uncompleted) at the University of Oxford 2012-14. In 2015 she decided to change focus and work on her jewellery full time. She completed a short course in stone setting at Central St Martin’s under Anastasia Young in 2018. She showed her current collection at Brno Design Days in October 2018 and had a pop-up at Kurator in Prague for the month of December. She had a solo show at the prestigious Munich Jewellery Week in March 2019.

Queen’s Wood Studio is based at Gorkého 1, Brno 602 00, Czech Republic. You can make an appointment to meet her there or find her jewellery for sale at Kurator, Prague, Object Concept Store, Brno, and online at Queenswoodstudio.com.
