Qiyao Peng is a menswear and womenswear designer who focuses on creating unique silhouettes for clothes.
She is currently an undergraduate student of Fashion Design at Kingston University (KSA).

This is a graduate collection, the concept of which is to express my spiritual world and whether I should break out of it and be myself in an environment full of "constraints". My focus in this project is on menswear/unisex and the design focus is also on silhouettes and the matching of different fabrics and wadding.

The inspiration comes from my spiritual world. When I was growing up, I had a lot of people who gave me 'care' and 'advice', which they thought was good. It's like a protective shield and a cage at the same time.
Over time, it can become inherent in your own thinking, like a cocoon that forms itself. But if you are willing to change, you can break free. Step out of your 'comfort zone' and embrace a new you.
This collection is made up of 6 looks. I have therefore chosen to express this 'gentle bondage' with soft wadding and have tried to convey the form of a cocoon being 'broken' by changing the silhouette. The natural folds also bring a sense of layering and contrast.
