As the company's founder, I am Rani Mudraboina. After graduating from National Institute of Fashion Technology, I started my career as a designer. After a career as a designer and merchandiser in corporate ventures, I sought out to fulfill my passion for working in the indigenous artisanal sector.

With a passion and intention to reform the perception of sustainable fashion, conceived the concept of PRAPTA, meaning serving the purpose. While the current fashion industry at large focuses on highly commercial products and sales with no to less purpose of "sustainable fashion", PRAPTA visioned towards promoting the sustainable fashion (couture & pret) by involving weavers, craftsmen and artisans from different parts of the country. Our core values are to contribute and be socially responsible to disappearing communities across India. By using the power of art & creativity, we at PRAPTA will work towards showcasing the talents of such identified communities through our work.
Prapta is a conscious label that is committed to ethos and crafts and strives to create a sustainable design system by sourcing ethical fabrics, working with skilled craftsmen, and creating employment to artisans and weaver’s community belonging to different parts of India.
