‪The concept which has inspired my graduate collection is based on the limitless nature of children’s imagination and how curious they can be. I first became fascinated with this concept when I came across some old photos of my dad as a young boy with my grandad in Jamestown which is the island he grew up on. When I spoke to my dad about them he said growing up on Jamestown he felt like a ‘lost boy’ from Peter Pan, running around the island with his cousins causing havoc. ‬

‪This lead me to think of Tim walkers exhibition I saw a few years a go in which he created beautiful images of his representation of one of my favourite books “Lord of the Flies”. He believed that when the school boys were left to their own devices their imagination would run wild and they were full of creativity. I love how playful this is and aim to portray this freeness in my collection. I have explored childhood and the sense of inhibition when children dress themselves, which is communicated through my textiles and the use of mixed and matched prints as well as the different textures. ‬
