After an internship at a high quality and bespoke belt manufactory Philip welp started his studies at the Berlin University of the Arts (UDK) in 2019. On his latest project he focused to combine traditional embellishment with high tech materials to be the interface between technic and nature. It led him win the Hoodie Competition in collaboration with Voo Store in his 2nd Year.

Thanks to these challenges he gained many different skills and got to know various perspectives on fashion and design.

Welp hopes to further explore experimenting with high tech process to blend them with clothing. Merging these approaches and creating something ,that offers a new perspective of the interaction between human beings and nature.

Latest Collection

Aero

In my previous collection; aero I focused on motorsports. My work involves a continuing line of interests and influences, so in this collection I explored the aerodynamics of vehicles and created new silhouettes based on aerodynamic principles. Using high tech materials like carbon fiber and alcantara I wanted to transfer the emotions of the sport directly into the looks. This project also takes a critical look at the recycling processes in the automotive industry. Seat covers and interior trim often end up on the scrap heap, where they are no longer of any use. At that point I intervened by creating comfortable garments from these materials, which does not lose it’s characteristic codes of a car seat.
