Petra Kubíková

Petra Kubíková is a fashion designer based in Bratislava. She graduated from the Fashion studio at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava in 2015. Typical elements of her work are the stylization of shapes, simplicity, combinability and neatness. She finds inspiration in Japanese culture, especially Tokyo and its atmosphere, as well as from music and in art history. Petra considers the materials she uses and their properties to be principal and determinative factors in her art. She works with natural materials such as wool, cotton, and leather amongst others. Petra draws from an expansive set of rich experiences from the fashion competitions, exhibitions and shows held not only in Slovakia, but also in the Czech Republic, Hungary, New Zealand, Belgium, UKRAINE and England. She received The Best Fashion Graduate Prize upon completion of her degree. Her most recent collection brought her the Fashion Live Fresh Designer Award in 2015.
