We slipped into our La Salle Moderne, planted our vintage sunglasses on our faces then planted determined foot to accelerator.
City blocks flashed by, faster and faster: Nouveau, Bauhaus, Deco, Post-Modernism, that trashy suburb the 80’s.
I looked back to make sure the Pollock was still tucked safely in the back seat, nestled next to the first two series of Ghost In The Shell.
Careening around a technological corner, we skidded to avoid a crowd of commercialism blindly crossing the road and crashed straight into a wall of Futurism.
Tess plucked herself from the wreckage and took a polaroid of the whole mess.
“Let’s start a fashion label” she said, fanning the photo as the image emerged......

Tess Malpas launched Parque in 2015 armed with a solid background in award-winning graphic design, a slightly unhealthy obsession with fashion, and a penchant for creating the unexpected. Inspired by her experience in Australia and overseas, and crashing into a wall of parenthood, Tess set out to evolve as a designer, seize the day, and create a unique offering of luxury fashion accessories.

Bringing together the graphic and industrial design knowledge of herself and husband Sunny, Parque aims to bring an unexpected approach to fashion accessories through graphics and material innovation. Knowing all too well the joy that a high quality statement piece can bring, Tess designs for others like herself: people seeking timeless designs, with an air of the unexpected.

Manufacturing in Australia gives Tess the hands-on quality control that Parque demands, as well as ensuring the ethical production standards that Parque is committed to.

A distinctive and nonconformist aesthetic has always been Tess’ approach to design, and is the undercurrent of Parque’s offering. Silk scarves and pocket squares are just the beginning for Parque, with some exciting new accessories in prototype stage for launch late 2015.
