PAOLA BALZANO

Paola Balzano is a Luxury Womenswear label founded in 2012. After graduating in Fashion and Costume design at Accademia di Costume e di Moda in Rome, Italian/Taiwanese designer Paola Balzano then relocated to London to continue her studies at Central St Martin’s and gain industry experience prior to setting up her epoymous label. She developed her aesthetic taste growing up between Rome and Taipei: the mixture of European and Asian origins plays an important role in her creative research. Her Classical studies influenced her conceptual approach to fashion. The research of an ideal balance between opposites, the Classical beauty of Greek and Roman culture and the Gothic and Romantic idea of 'the Sublime' are important elements in her designing research that are translated into her personal vision. Paola Balzano works around the body shape in order to emphasise its curve, creating Couture inspired garments that can be worn in everyday life. With great attention to detail and finishing, the use of luxurious fabrics and a focus on high quality manufacturing and hand craftsmanship, entirely Made in Italy, Paola Balzano garments celebrate women's femininity and timeless elegance.
